Apple Magic Mouse Redesign
The Apple Magic Mouse is known for its terrible ergonomics and the inability to charge while in use due to the charging port being located on the bottom. The redesigned Magic Mouse’s ergonomics were inspired by the Logitech MX Master 3S while retaining the original Magic Mouse's design choices of minimalism through the use of “haptic buttons”. The charging port has been moved to the front where it is now usable while charging.
Research
The Logitech MX Master 3S is widely regarded as the gold standard for productivity mice, and I aimed to capture its comfort and functionality in a design that seamlessly integrates with the Apple ecosystem. To achieve this, I drew inspiration from the sharp edges and rounded corners of the Apple Studio Display and Mac Mini—devices the mouse would frequently accompany. Additionally, I incorporated elements from the more rounded form of the original Apple Mighty Mouse, blending modern functionality with Apple’s iconic design language.
